Call for Proposals

World Englishes in the Multilingual World

Arizona State University
Tempe, AZ, USA
November 16-18, 2013
Proposal Submission Deadline Extended: April 30, 2013

The IAWE 2013 Organizing Committee seeks proposals for individual presentations (20 minute plus 10-min discussion) and colloquia (2 hours and 10 minutes) that address various topics within the field of World Englishes studies. Any topic related to WE theory, methodology, or pedagogy is welcome; we especially encourage proposals that address the conference theme: “World Englishes in the Multilingual World.”

To submit your proposal, please use the online proposal submission form [https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=iawe2013]. Proposals for individual papers should be 300 words maximum (including references). Colloquium proposals should include a 300-word overview of the entire colloquium and a 300-word proposal for each individual presentation within the colloquium.  Please note that we cannot accept proposals that do not adhere to the word limit.

You may submit multiple proposals but may appear on the program as a presenter only once (a person who organizes a colloquium may also present). If multiple proposals get accepted, you will be asked to select one and withdraw others.

The deadline for submission of proposals is April 30, 2013. Proposals will be anonymously peer reviewed by a panel of international scholars in the field. Notification of acceptance will be sent out by July 2013.
